WELCOME TO GROUP THERAPY!

The transformative power of group therapy lies in its focus on relationships and connecting to others. During sessions, you will learn about yourself through these connections, thereby enriching your communication skills and ability to form relationships. In group therapy, you will be encouraged to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences and to be truthful and straightforward with your fellow group members. You will also be encouraged to step outside of your comfort zone and take emotional risks.

A consistent and structured environment is maintained in group. Toward this end, group members are asked to express feelings of frustration in a respectful manner, refraining from verbal attacks on other members, refrain from outside social contact with group members, respect the confidentiality of all group members, arrive on time to sessions, attend sessions with minimal absences, and pay for sessions on time. In order for group to be effective, consistent attendance is essential. Group members are permitted two excused absences. Absences require 48-hour advance notice. All other absences will be charged.

In order to ensure maximum emotional freedom in group, group members are encouraged to express feelings, positive or negative, towards the therapist, voice any concerns about the group to the therapist, and reach out to the therapist for any help or guidance along the way.
